Oh man did I have too much to drink on Friday night. Really it was a combination of not having anything to eat with a little too much alcohol that did me in. For lunch on Friday I had a burrito from a fancy schmancy burrito place. That means it was in some gourmet tortilla with other fancy ingredients and it was hellla small. I told PieInYourEye and Deelan that I was going to get some Jack in the Crack around 3 to make up for the light lunch but they insisted that I not eat anything. They said that we were going to eat after work before we went to the bar so I thought that would be cool. Well, that didn't happen and we ended up at the bar with no food.
Normally when we go out on friday nights we drink a little then have dinner, then go for a second round somewhere. That didn't happen. There were so many people that were not regulars with us that our plans were shot. We just stayed at the bar and drank all night long.
Afterwards we caught a cab to the nearest Denny's. Everybody goes to Denny's after getting drunk. So I was sitting there trying not to fall out of my chair and not doing a very good job of it. I'm pretty sure I ordered corned beef hash and eggs, with hashbrowns and toast. Before the food came I went to the bathroom and forced myself to puke. There really wasn't anything in my stomach so that didn't work so well. After I took a few bites of my food I went back to the bathroom and puked but there really wasn't enough food in me to make it productive.
We caught BART back to the East Bay and made our ways home. I went right to sleep when I got home. All through the night I kept getting up to puke. My stomach was still empty so all I was puking was bile. Nasty nasty stuff.
In the morning I woke up and my stomach was twisted up in knots. I was starving and I didn't have a hangover at all. I figured if I had some nice warm soup I would be ok. About half an hour after I ate the soup if felt like I had drunk half a bottle of scotch. I felt like I was drunk again and the room was spinning. weird. So a bit later I puked up all of the soup. That was very productive.
It was like Linda Blaire in the Excorcist. This was some really good projective vomit. I closed my eyes but could feel every little chunk pass through my mouth. It was so nasty but it made me feel so good.
I went back to sleep and got up around noon. I felt a little off but no headache or anything. I showered and watched some TV.
I didn't notice that I had a voicemail on my phone until I picked it up and checked it later. One of my other co-workers, T, had called. She invited me to a birthday party for one of her friends. I called her back but she didn't answer so I just left her a message letting her know that I would love to go.
After leaving the message I drove down to Carl's Jr to get a nice greasy cheeseburger because I was starving again. Man did that taste so good. T called as I was driving back home and let me know what was up.
Basically she was up in Vallejo and wanted me to take BART up as far as I could and she would pick me up. So i took BART up to the El Cerrito Del Norte station because that is as far north as I will go. The Richmond station is way too dangerous. From there we drove down to South City were the bday party was.
It was very foggy and cold in South City. The weather on that side of the Bay is always foggy and cold. I'm glad I live on the warm sunny side.
The people at the party were really cool. It was mostly family and close friends but they made me feel at home. Of course the first thing they made me do was eat. If you go to a Filipino's house and not eat then you probably won't be invited back every again. It didn't take much convincing though because the food looked great. I did limit myself to one plate though because if I would have gotten too comfortable I would have eaten every last scrap of food in the place. I had a couple of beers even though I really didn't want to drink any alcohol.
From there we went to visit another of T's friends. They were having a small get together at their apartment. They also ordered me to grab a plate and load it up with food. I did as ordered. The food was so good there too. Chicken and steak marinated to perfection. They wanted me to drink there also but I had to really let them know that I couldn't drink any more. Even though it was just beer I didn't want to drink that much two nights in a row.
So we chilled there and watched the children run around, scream, play, cry, and all the other things that the little monkey's do. It just amazing how children change people's lives. They were talking about going to see Barney in concert. Barney the big purple dinosaur. The kids were totally stoked about it. I couldn't imagine doing that right now, it would be hell. Then they put in this DVD that was just things like stuffed animals and other kids playing with toys. Parts had soft music and other parts had people speaking in foreign languages. The kids were under this DVD's spell. The just sat quietly and stared at the screen. It was freaky. I'm sure one day I'll be putting the same DVD on for my kids but for now I am very happy not to have children in my day to day life.
So we left around 11pm and T dropped me off at the BART station so I could get my car. I pretty much just came home and went to sleep. When I woke up I had lost an hour, daylight savings. All the clocks were 1 hour ahead. I prefer the fall when we set the clocks back 1 hour.
Today is chore day. I'll be busy with laundry, cleaning, shopping. I need to get a haircut today because the fro is starting to grow.
