So Sunday morning I talked to The Funk on the phone. There was a Dairy Queen in Redwood City that had what we were looking for: The Flamethrower burger and strawberry cheesecake blizzard. So around noon we took off to Redwood city to get our grub.
The place was dingy and old, just like a good diner should be. The chick behind the counter was cool. She handled The Funk well. He can't just walk in and order his food, he has to make a production of it and she was quick on her feet and had good comebacks for everything he said.
Anyway, we ordered our burgers. The chick then turned to the little mexican guy that was working the grill and said "Dos" and then put her arms up over her head and made magic fingers to show flames. It was wonderful. I got a large order of onion rings with my burger and when they came out it was amazing. It was this large cardboard box full of onion rings. I was never going to be able to finish them.
After the burgers we got our strawberry cheesecake blizzards. We only got a small because of all the food we ate before. Even those were pretty big. The ice cream was sticking out twice as high as the cup it was in. We just ate it down to the level of the cup and then got lids to take the rest home. Mine is still sitting in the fridge.
I spent the rest of the day cleaning and doing laundry. I watched a little tv but not much was on during the day.
Later in the day I went to dinner with The Funk and Kim and their families. We went to some Korean version of Todai. It wasn't as good though. They used very cheap cuts of meat that had lots of fat and sinew.
After dinner I went home and waited for the Survivor Finale. It went down pretty much how I thought it would. The two finalist were the one's that I thought would make it and the first surprise of the results show was exactly what I thought it would be. I saw that surprise coming way before they even said there would be a surprise on the show. The jury members that were upset got exactly what they asked for. They should never have let their guards down no matter what kind of emotional plea was made. The official twist at the end was kind of weird but I don't care one way or another about it.
