So I took the top off the Corvette and drove down to Capitola for lunch. We went much later than I usually go and there was a craptastic amount of traffic. It was a nice drive though. We drove around the little village part of Capitola even though I knew there wouldn't be parking. It's a good way to get a quick look at the place though.
After parking the car at the lot up the hill we walked down and strategized. We had to decide if we wanted to walk around or eat first. We decided to eat first because then we would walk off the food afterwards, and because I was starving.
We ate at Paradise Bar and Grill. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a seat out on the patio with the view of the beach. It was worth it though because it was a beautiful day and also the inside had a bunch of flies buzzing around.
Man did we eat! We got two appetizers, an ahi fillet and stuffed portabella mushroom caps. The ahi had a sesame see crust and was just barely seared on the outside. It was served with soy sauce, wasabi and ginger. The portabella caps were stuffed with brie and a few other little things for flavor. The mushrooms were freaking huge. They really could have been a meal for two all by themselves. They were soooo delicious and cheesy! I ate all the ahi by myself though because T doesn't like raw fish. Growing up in Hawaii she was teased a lot because of this but it didn't change her.
For our entree T had a spinach salad with melted brie. it looked soooooo good and it had a huge blob of melted brie on it. I wanted to pick it up with my hands and slather it on my face and die a happy man. I had the double shrimp pasta. It was penne pasta with a ton of cooked rock shrimp, tomatoes, and an alfredo sauce with breaded and fried butterfly shrimp on top.
I can't even begin to describe how wonderful our lunch was. Everything was great. The ahi melted in my mouth, the cheesy mushrooms made my mouth explode with flavor, and the shrimp and pasta was unbelievable. I could have climbed over the railing and taken a nap on the sand right there.
instead we went for a walk. There really isn't much to Capitola, at least the little village area by the beach. There is a short row of restaurants right on the beach, a small pier, a small beach, and a bunch of small shops that sell junk. After doing a slow tour of all of that we walked back to the car.
The plan was to get back in time to watch a movie so instead of taking the scenic route back along Hwy 1 we just went straight back to San Jose. When we got home though we were feeling lazy so we just sat on the couch and watched TV. Eventually she busted out the Drumline DVD and we watched that.
It's really nice having someone to cuddle with now. Like i've said before, it's all nice having female friends to go out with and kick it with, but it doesn't come close to being as nice as having someone to hold and kiss and squeeze. it really doesn't compare.
So when I got home I had to rush to get ready to go out. It was Alex's birthday and I promised I would go out for her party. She was having a million of her friend's meet her at Ruby Skye. I invited T but she refused to go. She does not go to clubs at all.
So all the dudes were going to meet up at my place before going. Luckily the chicks that The Funk invited were way late so I didn't catch much crap. I had to run out and get cash and gas up my car but I got back just as everyone else was ready to leave.
There was a huge line waiting to get into the club but Alex arranged it so all her friends got to cut in front of the VIP line. WORD UP HOMIE! So we got inside and it was packed tighter than a sardine can. It was really really hot too. I didn't drink at all so that meant I was the default dance guy. I really didn't mind since every time I go to a club by myself my major complaint is wanted to dance but having no one to dance with.
Anyway, my legs are really tired today. I'm doing my household chores and stuff today. Maybe catch a movie. Oh and my roommate is having a small bbq later today for the Laker game.
That reminds me of a funny story. He invited one of Alex's friends over today for the bbq. Last night at IHOP all the guys were laughing at him (he wasn't there) because I guess he war really picking up on her last night. Now, you have to understand that in order to know that my roommate is picking up on someone you would have to really know him. It's not the same as other guys picking up on girls. He talks about remodeling his house and gardening and other weird things. Apparently he was really excited about the fact that she let him drive her home since she was too wasted to drive her car back home. Well, what he doesn't know is that she is a lesbian and has a girlfriend back home in L.A.
I don't know if I should let him know or not. I mean. she lives in L.A. so it's not like he is going to be asking her out or something. She is just going to come over later today and then he will probably never see her again.
