As I was driving down Dyer right before Union Landing, on my way to the South Hayward BART station, I saw a cat in the right hand lane hoping back and forth. It was just hopping around playing in the street. It looked like it was playing with a bug that it had caught or something. It seemed so happy.
Then as I got closer to it I saw that it wasn't such a happy kitty. It's head was squished but it was still hopping around. I didn't know what to do. It was as good as dead but I didn't want to try to pick it up and move it off the road. The thought briefly, and I do mean very briefly, crossed my mind that I should squish it with my car to put it out of it's misery. That thought left my head quick because I just don't have what it takes to do that on purpose.
I kept driving and watched the kitty hop around in the rear view mirror. Other cars drove by but I don't know if anyone else ran it over. Poor Kitty.
