Woke up and put my headphones on for a while. Needed a good dose of music to start the day.
I took a shower and straightened up my room before packing a weekend bag and heading to Turlock for my baby brother's birthday. I got to Turlock around 12:30pm and called Dennis to let him know I was in town. He and Karah weren't home so I left a message.
When I got home I threw my stuff in my old room and then talked to my dad for a bit. He was excited about my brother's birthday. I hadn't eaten yet so I headed out right away to find something. First I stopped by the AT&T store to get my dad a phone and add another line to my account. They said something about how it had to be a Cingular phone and I would have to buy another two new Cingular phones for myself and my mom (who I added a long time ago). I called BS and they went to the back and gave me the "last" AT&T phone that they have.
The girl helping me was flirting big time. Always happens when I'm in Turlock. Sorry babe, i'm not one of those sick fucks who takes advantage of girls who weren't even in preschool when I was in high school. I have a 5 year rule, it's a little fuzzy but generally speaking I don't want to have anything to do with a girl if she is older or younger than me by 5 years. I can't say that there will never be an exception but it would be very rare.
So after all that I decided to grab something at Turlock's new Panda Express. Turlock is really growing. The thought of Panda Express in Turlock just blows my mind. I remember when it was a bumfuck town of 20,000. Nothing but cows and corn out there.
When I got home with my food my grandparents were there. My grandmother burst into tears as soon as I walked in the door. Damn it was hard for me to keep it together.
After my grandparents left I just kicked it for a while. Watched some movie on TV. I swear my parents need a new tv. Really they need new everything but they aren't the type to be spending their money on things that aren't necessary. They live a very unassuming life. The only thing that you can say they like to show off is the fact that they are good people. They don't care much for the appearances that many others love to put forth. I gave them $5,000 last year to remodel their kitchen and they just stuck it in the bank. It's not even like they needed the money to begin with but that's the type of people they are.
Dennis called me up after the movie was over and asked me if I wanted to come over for dinner at his place. Of course I said yes. I'm not going to pass up a chance to kick it with my best friend. I stopped by the grocery store and picked up a 12 pack of bud light for us to drink so we can get our redneck on.
Of course him and his wife gave me the 3rd degree regarding my love life. I just told them that I had no love life but avoided getting into details. I really didn't want to discuss it with them.
We ate pizza and drank beer while watching The Village. I already saw it but this time I actually paid attention. It was still just style over substance in my book. Afterwards we watched some TV but it was after 11 and the long Friday night was catching up to me. I was nodding off pretty bad so I excused myself and went home to bed. Popped my earbuds in and fell asleep listening to the iPod.
