So Friday I got really drunk. We went to Fuzio's and I drank several Tequinis. We didn't go to Bucca because Rick Chase called and cancelled at the last minute. I was pretty useless on Saturday. I just layed in bed most of the day.
Saturday evening I met one of my AIM friends. She came over to my house and we jumped in my car and drove to Palo Alto. Other than watching Better Off Dead at midnight I didn't have anything planned.
The first thing we had to do was find parking. It is damn hard to find parking on University Ave. We drove all the way down to the end and then zig zaged our way back up going from one side street to the next in search of parking. We eventually found an open spot in a parking lot on one of the side streets.
We walked up and down University checking out all of the eating spots. Alot of them looked good, alot of them looked too foo foo. We took note of the places that looked cool and went to Borders to browse around.
I saw some books that I wanted. There was an OS X book, and a book on Flash MX. We walked over to the magazine section. On our way there we passed by the music area. They have these listening stations where you can preview some CDs. There was this dude who looked drunk and dishevled rocking out to some CD. It was so cool.
We got to the magazine rack and started browsing through the magazines. I think we were in the Music, Movie, TV, and porno section. I looked at a few music magazines. I checked out the magazine that I used to have a subsription to, Alternative Press. It looked cool still. They brought back the independent movie section which is a huge plus. I might subsribe again.
GT pointed out a small booklet called Asian Movie Idols or somthing like that. It was basically a booklet about hot asian movie stars. They had all kinds of pictures of hot asian chicks in mostly kung fu flicks. They even had a picture of a naked female sword fight. I have to find out what movie that is in and rent it. Of course no periodical dedicated to the asian female form for the consumption of the asian male population would be complete without the obligatory bondage pictures. I am surprised that there weren't any Bukkake pictures in it (for those of you that know what that is a reference to I am sorry, I just read about something within the hour that was funny and put this disturbing image in my mind, Four-Eyes )
We left there and talked about were we wanted to eat. It was a choice between Taxi's, Siam Royale, or Subway Sandwiches. Subway had a poster in the front window advertising 3 sandwiches for $10.99 so it was very tempting. But then I noticed that it was a Football Sunday special only and my heart sank. We decided to go to Siam Royale. It was deeeeeeeeelicious. I ate lots of steamed rice which I have really cut out of my diet.
After dinner we had some time to kill so we walked around some more. We were looking for a place to chill and maybe have a drink or two. We got all the way to the end of University and didn't see anything that looked cool. Then I noticed a public toilet like the one's they have in San Francisco. So we walked to the public toilet in search of fun. Actually there was a big map on the side of the toilet that I wented to look at, thinking that maybe it would shoe local hangouts. No such luck.
We noticed some people walking down a side street and followed them. The further we walked down this side street the more drunk people we passed so I thought we were headed in the right direction. We ended up at the Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant. Since we had already eaten, and surpringly my fat ass wasn't hungry already, we went to the back were the bar is. It was a very white crowd. We were the two darkest, most ethnic people there. So we sat down and had a beer. With about 15 minutes before the movie was about to begin I ordered another beer. I really don't know why. My bladder and stomach were way too full to drink the beer so I just left it unfinished and we walked to the theater.
We got there just as they were letting everyone in. They didn't even check for our tickets and were handing out free bowls of ice cream. This place totally rocks! They gave a away free Tori Amos CDs to people who answered trivia questions correctly. I answered some of the questions correctly but I wasn't loud and obnoxious enough to catch the dude's attention. Next time all them fools better watch out cause I am going to unleash The Monkey Boy on they azz!
The movie was just as funny now as the first time I saw it. John Cusak looked really young in this movie, like he was a teenager or something. I'm not all that fond of the next two movies that they will be showing so I probably won't be in the Palo Alto area anytime soon. But they will be showing Purple Rain on November 9th. There is no way I am going to miss that show. I will probably be going for both the Friday and Saturday showings.
On Sunday I spent the day helping my roommate out with some project he is working on. It is supposed to be super secret so I'll try not to give away too many details here. It is a new reality show that will incorporate a fitness and martial arts competition. They were going to shoot some film for a demo to shop around to sponsors and the major networks.
My roommate told me that they just needed a few extas to fill in the shots. The main "contestants" were supposed to be average, somewhat out of shape people who would be taken through a nine week training course with regular competions and one big competition at the end for a large prize.
I showed up and very quickly found out that I was promoted from background extra to demo "contestant." This was horrible. All of the other "contestants" were these buff dudes with perfect bodies and model looks. The chicks were all hot and buffed too.
Here is an example of what I was up against:
That is Jose and Hanna. They are like ten times more buffed now than they were when that picture was taken. They both look downright scary.
Everyone looked like they were in great shape, with their tight workout clothes on. I was in my loose workout pants and oversized South Korea World Cup shirt.
They had us do a bunch of physical activities such as: running, excercising, and boxing. I didn't do as bad as I thought I would. This is probably due to the fact that pretty people for the most part do not like pain. At the first instance of pain they want to quit. Ugly people like me however are used to pain in all it's forms.
I totally didn't get to eat all day Sunday. I didn't have breakfast before I went to the video shoot and all they had on the set was apples, bananas (yummy), grapes, bottled water, and gatorade. I was throwing a fit on the set demanding that someone bring me some cheeseburgers and chili cheese fries. Everyone just ignored me. I guess I haven't achieved the status of a Charlie Sheen who can demand hookers be brought to his trailer at a whim. Oh well.
They took us out to eat sushi afterwards. It was one of those sushi boat places. I just grabbed every freakin' boat that came but and stuffed them in my mouth (more rice that I shouldn't be eating). I had like a huge stack of those little plates in front of me. Everyone else was ordering skinless chicken teriyaki and shit like that. Fuck that, this fat boy was hungaray! Gimme some fried twinkies beaotch! Damn, did I tell you they had fried tempura mango ice cream!?! FRIED FUCKING ICE CREAM! Oh my god it was so good.
I am so sore today, it's not even funny. I hurt all over. This chunky boy will not be engaging in any physical activity for at least a month. The only heavy lifting I will be doing is lifting the cajun turkey burgers to my mouth at lunch time.
Oh, I also watched Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory on Sunday. I saw this movie for the first time when I was a very young child and I believe it had a very profound psychological effect on me. I remember having nightmares for the longest time after watching this movie. The scene where they are in that boat and they show all those gruesome images was just too much for my delicate little mind. I think that's why I ended up so retarded. Oompa loompa doompa dee doo.
