So I am going to take this moment to get a little serious. I usually don't use this little corner of Al Gore's Internet as a soapbox, but today I will. Just to give you all fair warning today's topics will be "gay marriage" and the Jesus.
So there is a whole lot of bruhaha over "gay marriage" right now. I use quotes because the term gay marriage implies that somehow it is something different than marriage. It isn't. What really gets my blood boiling is that we have so many people saying that we should not allow "gay marriage" or that we need to amend our glorious constitution to specifically forbid homosexuals from marrying. None of these people can give one arguement for this position based on sound reasoning.
These "reasons" include:
God hates fags!
Jesus says so!
God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve!
It's immoral!
Men will get married just to give each other health benefits!
Ok, so which one of these arguements is supported by our constitution? None of them. Not one person can give one constitutional arguement that says that we can deny homosexuals to be married. What these people seem to think is that if somehow gay people start getting married that their worlds will end. Wake up people! Homosexuals getting married is not going to change a damn thing. You will still be just as ignorant as you were the day before. Sheesh.
Now we discuss the Jesus. More specifically I want to have a little chat about Mel Gibson's new movie The Passion of Christ. Ok, I actually want to see this movie because it might be good. Does that mean that I will be converted? Nope. Do I have to be a Jesus freak to watch this movie? Nope.
I swear people are getting their panties in a bunch over this. It's not just limited to the Christians either. We have Jewish people saying that this film shouldn't be shown because it is anti-semetic. It will lead people to believe that the Jews killed Jesus. Well, if you believe in the bible then you would know that Jesus died because we are ALL sinners. So we are all responsible for his death according to the Christian belief.
Well, what about those people who don't believe in the bible you ask? Won't they be sparked into commiting hate crimes against Jews? Well, THEY DON'T BELIEVE IN THE BIBLE SO THEY DON'T GIVE A RATS ASS WHO DID OR DIDN'T KILL THE JESUS! Sheesh.
I guess what I am really pissed off at right now is that we have a whole lot of people who are very limited when it comes to the art of debating. It is a real shame. We have people all over the place putting their ugly asses on TV and arguing like a couple of elementary school twits. It drives me crazy.
Ok, that is all.
