Boy did i have to wake up early last Monday. My flight was leaving at 6:10am. I woke up at 4:45 and hauled much ass to the Oakland Airport.
I got in there in time to have a cranberry juice and then board the plane. Flaming Bill was at the Airport taking the same flight. The admin booked us on the same flights there and coming back...yay...
So I sat in my shitty aisle seat to our first stop, which was Phoenix, AZ. It is damn hot in Phoenix yo! They told us to close the shade on the window and open our little air vents before the opened the door because it was 120 degrees on the tarmac AT 8 FREAKIN AM!
So we got off the plane and ran to the other side of the airport to catch our connecting flight to Philly. We arrived in Philly around 5pm. We called Mr. Ed to come pick us up since he was the first to arrive and had supposedly gotten an SUV which was to be our transportation for the week. While we were waiting Luckycharms showed up. Her flight landed a little after ours.
So Mr. Ed showed up and the SUV turned out to be a Chevy Tracker. I don't know if you know what a Chevy Tracker is but it is far from a real SUV. The thing has less room than a VW Jetta.
So we went to the hotel, which was the Double Tree in Cherry Hill, NJ. We checked in and then Mr. Ed, Luckycharms, The Rag, and I met in the lobby in order to go back into Philly to have lunch with someone. This someone works for the company that we were going to receive our training from. She had suggested the place where we were going to have dinner.
The place was called Warmdaddy's. It was a blues bar/club. I had the chicken and waffles for dinner. It was a'ight. They were playing DVD's of various musical groups on the TV screens while we had dinner. My favorite was the Earth, Wind, and Fire DVD.
After dinner a band went up on stage, minus a lead singer. Turns out it was some form of open mic night. People could sign up and sing with the band or do some other type of performance. It was so horribly wonderful. Sister Wanda sang to us. She belted out some stunningly atrocious renditions of sould classics. I have to go back there.
If I do go back, remind me not to have the chicken and waffles though. My ass exploded as soon as I got back to the hotel.
