I just found tickets to New York on Jet Blue for $99, one way. I could go to New York roundtrip for a total of about $240. I almost bought the tickets right then and there but then I remembered I would still have to get a hotel room. I did a search for hotel rooms and the cheapest I could find was $159 a night at the Holiday Inn in SoHo. That pushed the total price of any possible New York trip to just over $1,000. I do not want to spend that much money on a last minute quick trip.
I think I really am going to go to Japan in September so I am going to save as much money as I can from now until then. I'll probably drive down to San Simeon later this month and then maybe spend a few days with relatives in San Diego. That shouldn't cost me more than a couple of hundred bucks which is no big deal. I need to get my passport.
I think one way I can make my Japan trip cheap is by eating at noodle houses. They can't charge all that much for udon. I'll spend all my money at night getting drunk on sake.

So while browsing the internet looking for something to do or somewhere to go for my upcoming suprise vacation I came across something intersting. It was a website for a company that does vacation packages to Japan. I checked out how much a one week vacation in japan would cost and was surprised that it would only cost about $1,400 (not including taxes).
Of course it is way too last minute to go to Japan in a few weeks, mostly because I still don't have a passport. I was thinking that I could go at the end of May when I have one week of scheduled vacation or I can go for my birthday in September when I have two weeks of scheduled vacation. I don't know how the weather in Tokyo or Kyoto is during May or September but I can't be all that bad.
I don't just want to visit Tokyo or Kyoto either, I would love to go out to rural Japan but I'm not sure how hard it would be getting there from Tokyo. I'm sure there are many more interesting things to see and take pictures of in rural Japan. Of course the main attraction of Tokyo is the vending machines with used panties in them. HAHAHAHAHAAAAAA. EWWWWWWWWWWWW. Japanese people like to get their freak on.
Anyway, now that a trip to Japan looks like it could be affordable I might just chill for the rest of the year and save up my money. Even though it might not be expensive for the travel package, I'm sure just living in Japan for a week will be a big hit on the wallet. Also, if I wait until September to go I can take Japanese lessons again so I won't be a stupid foriegner. I'll be a stupid foriegner who speaks bad broken Japanese!
