So on Saturday Mokee called me at like 8:30am and told me that we were leaving for The Warped Tour at 9am. I was like "oh shit I have to take a shower and stuff"
So I took a shower and went over to Mokee's house. The people going to the concert who were waiting at Mokee's house included: Mokee, her sister Jen, their dad, and Jen's pastey white friend from school.
We all jumped into Pop's car and headed for the city. It felt a little weird going to a concert with Pops but he is a cool dude so whateva.
We got to the city in no time and found parking right away. Then we walked a very short distance to piers 30-32. They were frisking people at the front gate so I got in the line that had a good looking frisker. She didn't really feel me up that much. Bummer.
We went in and walked around checking out the whole scene. Simple Plan went on really early in the day so they were the first group that we saw. Then we walked around some more. Then we went and checked out the schedule that they had put up on this big inflatable board thingy.
Jen and her pastey white friend eventually went off on their own. I stayed with Mokee cause this wasn't really her scene and I didn't want to leave her alone. We ended up kicking it with Pops and his girlfriend (who showed up later in the day) and the girlfriend's daughter. I should have gone with Jen and her pastey white friend. They were really into the bands and got all up in the crowd and had a good time and stuff. It was cool listening to all the bands but I wish I could have gotten up close and in the thick of things.
I got to see Rancid, Face to Face, Body Count, and Andrew W.K. So I had a good time even though there were a bunch of other bands that I wanted to actually see rather than just hear.
It was so hot in the city. I got major sunburnage on my legs, arms, face, and neck. I've been slathering lotion on several times a day and it has really helped. I haven't felt any pain yet at all. i'm hoping if I keep moisturizing myself that I won't peel too bad and I'll get nice and super dark.
Even if I do, it was all worth it to be at a pretty good concert.
