So last night Mokee, her boyfriend, and I went out to the Halloween bash in the village. The subway was packed, yo. The street was even more packed. We really couldn't see the parade except for the really big floats and costumes. There really weren't any freaks out like you see in San Francisco. We walked, and walked, and walked, and walked, and walked...
We were trying to find a nice place to eat but they were all on the other side of 6th Ave and there was no way to cross 6th Ave because of the traffic. We finally had a nice dinner at some italian place. I had the greatest pear salad. It has paper thin slices of pear, cheese, bacon, and walnuts all on top of mixed greens. It was very tasty. The rest of the dinner was great too. I had veal scaloppini with some garlic mashed potatoes.
After dinner we started walking again. We wanted to find a place to chill and have a few drinks. There were still a lot of people wandering the streets in costume.
We ended up back at the meat packing district and checked out the scene there. We eventually decided to go to the same place we went last time, this club called Trust. It was a'ight. We left around 1am because I had to get back to my room and go to bed and be at work the next morning.
The original plan for today was to spend half a day training the branch people and the other half exploring New York. That didn't happen. We had a lot of issues with the training and it was drug out way longer than it was planned for.
Afterwards me and a co-worker from the bay area took the recently promoted branch manager out to dinner. We tried to go to this italian place that she likes but they said the wait would be at least an hour. So then we went around the corner and wound up in this place called Patria. The food there was good. it was some type of latin cuisine.
Afterwards my co-worker and I came back to the hotel room. He want to rest and shower before we go out on the town drinking and stuff. I think I am going to take him to Sushi Samba for drinks. I was originally going to take him there tonight for dinner but the branch manager wasn't really into sushi.
So far I have not taken one picture! Blah! At this point I don't think I am going to take any unless an opportunity for a kick ass photo presents itself. I think brunch at Sylvia's tomorrow is going to have to be called off too.
