Yeah, it really sucked. I was sick the whole weekend. It came on strong right after work on Friday and just hit me like a ton of bricks. I went straight to bed when I got home and I pretty much stayed in my room all day Saturday. I had really severe body aches and I was running a pretty high fever. Just laying in bed with my eyes closed was painful.
I started feeling better towards the end of the day on Saturday and even more better on Sunday morning. I wasn't 100 percent but I made up my mind that I was going to get out of the house. Lucky for me Pamela was a sport and helped me out by giving me a reason to get out. After she finished some family business I drove out to pick her up and we headed into the city to watch a movie and then get something to eat. I got sweet parking at the 5th ST garage! We watched Hitch, which was a pretty funny and sweet movie. It brought up some past memories but nothing overwhelming thankfully.
Afterwards we drove out to North Beach for dinner and ate at Calzone's. I had hyped up their lasagna. It really is good. They make it with super thin sheets of pasta, the thinest I have ever seen. So we found sweet parking again at the parking garage across from the Chinatown police station and walked over to Calzone's.
We started with drinks, I got a Hefeweizen and Pam got a strawberry Mojito. Ok, quick sidenote for Edleen: Girl you need to have Gell take you here and try their Mojitos. They have like 6 different flavors and they come in hella big glasses!. So we started off with some french bread with garlic and smoked mozzarella. It was pretty damn tasty but I committed a foul and dropped a huge chunk of cheese on the table. Man that was really shitty, I don't like wasting good cheese like that. For our main course we decided to share the lasagna and the fettucine with dungeness crab.
They brought the food out hella fast! I mean it was out there in under 10 minutes. The lasagna was as good as I remembered it and the crab fettucine was very tasty and surprisingly spicy. We gobbled it all up and finished our drinks pretty fast. I was a bit slower than Pam though. That is one thing about me, I have a tendency to eat really slow. It's just kind of a habit, but I try to keep up with everyone else at the table.
With all the pasta we ate we had to walk it off so we took a stroll around North Beach and Chinatown. Of course like every other outing that Pam and I have been on the rain was a major player throughout the whole day. Or should I say that the rain was a major player hater. Always messing things up! It's ok though because Pam is responsible and always carries an umbrella, unlike someone else who always leaves his in his office...
After our stroll I dropped Pamela off at home and then went back to Fremont. It was straight to bed when I got home. I think I've been getting sick lately because I am just out and about way too much. I need to slow down. I am going to take a break from all the usual jet setting this week. I'm not even going to the gym, although this is going to be the toughest one for me to stick to. I think my body really needs a good weeks rest so it's just going to be dinner and then relaxing every day after work. I'm going to try to avoid all temptation to leave the house. We'll see if I can stick to it. I don't know if I can keep out of the gym...
