So Friday night, my birthday, was a drunken mess.
The plan to go to Bucca Di Beppo was scrapped at the last minute. Instead we went to Banyan Garden. It's this really good Malaysian/Thai/Vietnamese fusion restaurant here in the Freakmont.
From there we went to our friend's bar. I think I had 4 or 5 shots of tequila within the first hour of arriving. The rest of the night was a blur. To much drinky drinky.
I spent yesterday in bed wishing I were dead. I threw up twice. Well, really more than twice. Let's just say there were two occasions of puking, but multiple actual pukings for each occasion.
The Funk called and told me I had to recover by 7:30 because the fellas had plans for me. I told him that really it was ok, and I didn't need to go out again. He told me to be ready by 7:30.
Around 6 I ventured out and bought a western bacon cheeseburger. It was the best damn tasting cheeseburger ever. Afterwards I felt almost back to normal.
The Funk was running a bit late and didn't actually stop by to pick me up until around 8pm. The activities of the next few hours are highly classified. I can only say that they were illegal and very unsatisfying. I let the guys know that next year they can just give me a gift certificate to a kick ass steak house or something. I would surely have enjoyed an amazing meal over my other birthday "gift".
Afterwards the fellas were heading down to San Jose to some party at a hotel or something. I had no desire to go to San Jose and had them bring me back home.
When I got home I took off for Palo Alto to watch The Big Lebowski at the Aquarius. There were a lot of people out last night for the Midnight Madness movies. Whenever I'm around high school or college age kids I wonder if I was ever actually that annoying.
Next week they are going to show Dazed and Confused. It is going to be packed to the freakin' gills. Everyone is going to come out to watch that movie.
In other news, my iBook is half dead. The screen just doesn't want to come on. I spend over an hour with Apple Tech support on Friday and they finally gave up and said I had to send in for repairs.
The dude asked me if I wanted them to back up my hard drive to save the contents in the event that they have to wipe out the drive. I thought about it for a bit and then decided to go for it. The thought of losing the pictures that I haven't backed up yet was too much for me to handle. Afterwards I had second thoughts though. I have some pirated software on the drive and I don't know what they will do if they find it. it's not Apple software but I have no idea if they would bust me for it or not. They shouldn't even have to touch the drive since it's obviously a burnt out screen but who knows, someone over there might get nosey and look for pr0n or something and find the war3z.
I keep going back and forth between staying at home this week or driving down the coast. I'm going to check hotel prices and if they are super cheap I might head down the coast, maybe not all the way to San Diego though. I'm thinking a 3 or 4 day excursion with stops in Carmel, San Simeon, and Santa Barbara would be nice. It would be nicer if I had someone to go with me though.
